The Glowing Stone @ Conventions
The activity that provides the most exposure and is the highest profile in the public eye is our Convention Work. We have been on the convention circuit in Eastern Canada since 2009, when we began as a small little "let's see what we can do!" organization.
On our LINKS page, you'll note our association with Anime North. This convention is the first we ever participated in. Alexi and Ambjörn were invited by RCEHoppe (head of General Gaming at AN) to help at AN2009. We did, and it was a blast!
Later that summer we went to OTAKUTHON. It was the largest Go event they had ever had there at Otakuthon, and we were on a roll! Anime North was so impressed by our "moxie" that they invited us back in 2010, and with nearly 1, 900 people showing up over the course of two days, we were packed to brimming!
In 2011, we returned to Anime North, and Mr. James Sedgwick, President of the Canadian Go Association, made a return appearance. The Go! North event was highly successful with an estimated 4,000 people showing up for Go over the course of the 3-day event! If that's not success in Canadian Go, we really don't know what is!
